What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy uses an altered state of consciousness that allows clients to generally feel relaxed, calm, focussed and in a trance like state. In this state the Therapist has increased access to your subconscious mind to instill suggestions that align with the clients goals.

How many sessions of hypnotherapy will I need?

Every client is different and will need a different number of sessions. Hypnotherapy is not a one session fix all wonder as some lead you to believe. As a therapy tool hypnotherapy can often lead to change faster than talk therapy alone.

What I absolutely love about the TRTP/Breakthrough Therapy Package is that it is structured in such a way that we know that 3 x 2hr sessions will create MASSIVE change for each and every client.

Are Hypnotherapists qualified?

To obtain insurance and industry accreditation with the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists, Hypnotherapists require specialist training, as I do. I hold a Diploma in Hypnotic Sciences, recognised by the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists and other industry peek bodies.

Do I need a referral to see a Hypnotherapist?

No, a referral is not required.

What conditions can hypnotherapy treat?

Hypnotherapy can support a wide range of issues. I specialise in anxiety and trauma, as well as supporting high achievers to ditch their unconscious limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviours.

Can a Hypnotherapist make me do something I don't want to do?

Despite what you may have heard, while in hypnosis you are in still in complete control. Clients often feel like they are in that space between asleep and aware while in hypnosis, if you chose to you can break trance at any time.

Hypnotherapy only works to help clients achieve goals they truly desire. A hypnotherapist for example can not make you quit smoking if you don't truly want to.

What is self-hypnosis?

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist I use a range of techniques in the therapy setting. I can also teach you self-hypnosis to better support yourself for the long term.

Can I get stuck in hypnosis?

No, there is no evidence that you can get stuck in hypnosis. You are in complete control while in hypnosis and can leave that state at any time.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Yes, however the depth of hypnosis can very from person to person. Deep hypnosis is not always required to bring about change.

Hypnosis is a choice, if someone does not want to be hypnotised they won't be.

I'm having an online session, what do I need to do?

Hypnotherapy can be just as effective online as in person. Some prefer online sessions in the safety of their own personal space, others prefer to be in the room with the Therapist, both work. Wear comfortable clothes you can relax in.

To prepare for an online session ensure you are in a space you feel safe, comfortable and won't be disturbed. I recommend wearing headphone and ensuring you internet connection is stable. While candles can create a nice atmosphere it is recommended you avoid them as they can be a distraction and safety risk while in an altered state (a diffuser or other things without a naked flame can be effective in creating a nice calm space if you desire.)

How do I prepare for my first session?

No preparation is required, come in comfortable clothes you can relax in and an open mind.
